Kim the Panther found some interesting correspondence to Sheffield’s grottiest venue 1991-present!
Dear Sheffield Arena
On behalf of my fellow blue seats, I would like to thank you for your recent decision to close off a section of seating inside Sheffield Arena for Sheffield Steelers games from the 2009–10 season. We have sat happily unoccupied during Steelers games for many years without any prospect of being filled. We have watched and supported this club like no one else, tolerated the poor hockey, happily put up with the Brummie rambling on to himself. We are the most loyal Sheffield Steelers supporters around. This season’s success has been a huge kick in arm rest for us as Sheffield fans who vanished with the good times suddenly started filling us. We had no way of watching the game ourselves, after years of our loyalty, we found ourselves frozen out by glory hunting people who’s only superior quality was the ability to move, and thus earn money! We consider this an act of treachery! We were thus extremely happy to hear that you are going to guarantee 2,500 of us the opportunity to watch every game without any prospect of us having a bottom sit on us. We will gladly continue to support the Steelers as we have done for so long, contributing to the lifeless and uninspiring atmosphere that makes Sheffield Arena what it is.
Kind Regards,
Seat 12, Row G, Block 209
Dear Seat 12, Row G, Block 209
We don’t need you anymore, you’re dirty, stink of booze, and quite frankly I wouldn’t want any of our “Family” to put their bottoms anywhere near you.
Thanks for the memories but you’ve aged badly and you should have realised nobody wanted you when we couldn’t even give you away!!
A “2009 Elite League Champions” Steelers fan.
