Richards in the Shadows

Chris Richards
Chris Richards – Now staying in North America

With just under three weeks to go until the start of the season, the Panthers have been dealt a blow with the news that centreman Chris Richards will not now be joining the club for the 2008/09 campaign (full story from the Panthers website HERE).

This is poor timing to say the least, it may be that we now have to go into the season an import short, but this does now open the door for the return of one Dan Tessier.
Dollar Dan has not been a favourite amongst the Panthers faithful to say the least, especially as he walked out on us for a better contract in Switzerland in the 05/06 season, then inexplicably returned to England a season later to play for the axis of evil.
Despite this there were strong rumours earlier in the close season that Tessier was offered a contract to return to Nottingham by Coach Corey Neilson, only to stall on signing as he was awaiting to sit an entrance exam for the Canadian Police Force this month. Neilson is alleged to have retracted the offer as he wanted a commitment there and then, but has today’s news concerning Richards once again opened the door for Tessier’s return to the Black & Gold? I guess all will be revealed shortly…….

Id take tessier, joking aside…. you cant deny he is one of the most naturally gifted players in recent years.

SOme people are delluded into thinking because he does go for the most money it means hes not a very nice person and we shouldnt ever consider signing him because hockey ability comes second to his mindset.

Bring him back… now…. Id love it. Means I can wear my tessier shirt again without getting lynched

Agree entirely Ted, he could eat small children for all I care, you don’t dismiss a 100 point a season player out of hand.
