Golicic & LeClair over the Hill!

It’s been a very busy day at Panthers HQ. Firstly it was announced that six foot four inch defenceman Ed Hill, who has plenty of AHL experience, will be joining the Panthers before the weekend. The 1999 second round draft pick for the NHL’s Nashville Predators won’t exactly be lighting the lamp in the scoring stakes, but another stay at home blue liner is exactly what we need, sadly it’s come far too late to give us any chance in the league. With the play-offs looming this is a sensible signing by Corey Neilson, no-one can be in any doubt that we have firepower in abundance, but we have been sadly lacking at the back. To make way for Hill and the returning (and much missed) Johan Molin, it’s a case of last in first out as recent signings Juri Golicic and Corey LeClair are released. The writing was on the wall for LeClair during yesterday’s match against Coventry as he was benched for the entire second period and used sparingly in the third. Golicic can perhaps consider himself unlucky, he hasn’t let anyone down in his short time with the time and with his ability to play anywhere on the ice the flexibility he brings could be missed. Jade Galbraith will certainly be breathing a sigh of relief!

Panthers have made no secret of keeping an import on as injury cover, as they did with Robert Stancok last season. This season it looks like Rumun Ndur will be the deregistered import, a clever move by Panthers as we have missed his enforcing, if not his defensive abilities.
