Stevie Lee becomes sixth re-signing

Perhaps the signing that Panthers fans really wanted has happened as British defenceman Stevie Lee has become Panthers sixth re-signing of the week [Panthers Website Official release]

Many of Lee’s performances this season have belied his years, often being our best defenceman on the ice and showing up his much more experienced colleagues. It goes without saying that the fanbase will be delighted with his return for 2010/11. I only hope that he continues his progress and form next season and is signing a longer term contract by the end of the next campaign. I firmly believe that he has the potential to become one of, if not the best British defenceman in the league.

On his re-signing Lee said  “I’ve never had a year like last year before and it was an easy decision to come back, this is a great club to play for and I like everything about playing for the Panthers.” Coach Corey Neilson also said of the signing and of this weeks other signing news “That makes it four out of four on the British front despite interest from many other clubs. I’m pleased because regardless of the number of foreign players you are allowed to sign you need a core of solid British talent to be competitive. Steve showed how competitive he can be last season, we all liked what we saw and I’m delighted he will be with us again next season as we aim to improve overall once again.”

Only a week after the play-offs and six players are returning, the off season has started well.
