Kowalski Re-Signs for 2011/12

The Panthers were given a massive shot in the arm in the lead up to this weeks play-off finals with the news that netminder Craig Kowlaski will be returning to the NIC for the 2011/12 season.
For my money he has been the best netminder in the league this season by a long way and personally I’m delighted he is returning to England in September. His stats for the season so far are a Goals Against Average of 2.67 (3rd best in the league) and a Save Percentage of 91.7% (2nd best in the league) in 59 games [Source: Elite League Stats]
Kowalski himself said of his impending return “Why would I want to play anywhere else in this country, a top club, great fans, a great city and a great organisation. We’ve won one championship already this season and this weekend we’re gunning for a second, I want to do my best for Nottingham at the finals weekend this week and again next season. I love it here.”
I’d like to think that his Dad’s enjoyment of TCW Live helped him persuade the K-Wall to return (hey, we can but dream) but whatever it was it’s a fantastic start to the team re-building after the recent announcement that Brits David Clarke & Robert Lachowicz are on two year contracts and will also be returning to the NIC next season.
Wonderful news, let’s hope that Craig can return to Nottingham as a play-off champion.
