Jordan Fox signs for Panthers

Panthers team building for the new season continues at pace with the second signing of the week and the first new import for 2011/12 in the shape of 26 year old centreman Jordan Fox. [Panthers Website]
Fox comes over with a decent pedigree having spent most of his professional career in the ECHL, scoring 121 points in 127 games [Elite Prospects Stats] and joins Panthers from Finnish Second Division side Jokipojat.
Coach Corey Neilson said of his new capture: “Jordan has really good hands, I coached him when he was young and he’s gone on to play in the East Coast, the AHL, and last year he was in Finland.
He’s a great passer but he can also score goals. He’s a got a bit of a mean streak about him too. I asked Billy Ryan what he thought about him and he thinks he has the potential to light up our league. His coach at Gwinnett in the Coast, where he had a point a game, rates him as very skilled and he’s a good face-off man.”

Obviously I can’t comment too much as I’ve yet to see him play, but his pedigree looks very good and he’s still only young. Encouraging news on The Cage where a poster has sought the opinion of someone in the States who saw him play. Their view is as follows: “He was on my team here with Bateman and Mason in 2008 and we honestly thought we had lost him to the NHL. Trust me this is a GREAT signing”
Sounds like this guy could be one to watch. I very much look forward to seeing him in the black & gold.
