Imagine my surprise when I logged on to The Cage this morning and saw next seasons shirts with pictures. Imagine my greater surprise when I saw them and realised that instead of the usual slight tweak they are completely different. In a rare occurrence the shirts have been very well received by the fans, not surprising as in my opinion, they’re the best for a while. So without further ado, here is each one with comments.
The new home shirt incorporates the logo from the 1950’s team in a thick black and gold stripe around the middle. Nice to see that Nottingham has been added to the logo, maybe they do listen to the fans sometimes. Very simple and elegant looking hockey shirt, will sell very well. Also note the ‘Elite League’ badge, is this a sign that we will be continuing as we are?
The away shirt keeps the current Panthers logo and also reveals sleeve numbers, something that we haven’t had this season. For the gossip mongers it also has David Clarke’s number 5 with an ‘A’. So there we have it, new away shirt and return of the top Brit goal scorer. Sorted!
Saved the best until last. Straight out of left field comes a red 3rd shirt, complete with the 50’s Nottingham Panthers logo. I love this jersey and think it will be a top seller. Red is very different, in fact it has been eleven seasons since we had a red shirt. The thick black and gold stripe provides a contrast and like the home shirt it’s simplistic, not tacky like those Blaze/Steelers Halloween, Christmas, Valentines, St Swithins Day shirts! I think the Panthers are on to a winner with this one.

Disagree about the red jersey. What the heck has red got to do with the Nottingham Panthers mate? I think your Forest underskirts are showing! 🙂

no red wasnt part of the colours, we had a third strip that was red but that lasted only the season and only a few people paid for them! panthers are Black, White and Gold the other two are good, we still havent had a really nice shirt for ages and whats going on with the logo?
